Therapeutic Programs

While our therapeutic platform is applicable to many disease areas, Catalyst's internal and partnered drug discovery programs are currently focused on developing Alterase™ therapeutics for the treatment of hemophilia, inflammation, metabolic and angiogenesis-based disorders.  The company has developed both natural and engineered proteases (Alterases) that are highly selective for targets in these areas, and has demonstrated in vivo efficacy in a number of relevant animal models.

Catalyst is in the first stage of preclinical development with two of its therapeutic programs, and plans to initiate human clinical development of its first biopharmaceutical in 2009.
