

Sr. Research Associate/Scientist I, Automation and High Throughput Screening (RB10-114)

The primary responsibilities of this Sr. Research Associate/ Scientist I will include the automation of screening assays in support of Catalyst’s therapeutic Alterase platform. This position requires hands-on experience in programming automated work cells, transitioning assays from the bench to walk-away automation, and operating and QC’ing automation equipment. The candidate must be an innovative, self-motivated, team player with strong communication and organizational skills who thrives in a fast-paced multi-disciplinary environment.
Requirements:
- B.S/M.S in biological sciences with at least 4-6 years experience or Ph.D. with 0-2 years of experience in pharmaceutical or biotechnology organizations
- Specific experience in the transfer of biochemical assays from the bench to automated platforms including programming work cells (e.g. SAMI, Overlord, Janus WinPREP, etc.) for walk-away automation
- Solid understanding of modern high throughput screening assay technologies including experience using and QC’ing laboratory automation equipment in a biotech environment
- Excellent troubleshooting and problem solving skills
- Excellent computer skills in Excel and Powerpoint
- Comfortable working in a fast-paced, innovative environment
Preference will be given to candidates with:
- Experience in use of data analysis software such as Activity Base
- Familiarity with multiple screening assay formats (e.g. absorbance, fluorescence, FP, HTRF and Alphascreen)
