

Senior Scientist/Associate Director, Mass Spectrometry (#DS10-117)
The Senior Scientist/Associate Director will be primarily responsible for the analysis of protein therapeutics by mass spectrometry, reporting to the Senior Director of the Protein Sciences team in a fast-paced biotechnology start-up. The successful candidate will be expected to develop, execute and supervise LC/MS/MS and MALDI-TOF analytical methods for the analysis of recombinant therapeutic proteins for preclinical studies. This includes primarily the analysis of post-translational modifications of purified recombinant proteins, as well as the mapping and confirmation of protease cleavage sites. The Senior Scientist/Associate Director will not only execute and supervise in-house mass spec analyses, but also manage off-site collaborations.
Requirements:
- PhD in biochemistry, or relevant fields
- 8-10 years of post-doctoral experience
- Theoretical knowledge of and practical experience in protein analysis by mass spectrometry
- Experience in characterization of post-translational modifications of proteins by mass spectrometry
- Detailed knowledge of protein characterization analytical techniques
- Comfortable working in a fast-paced, innovative environment
Preference will be given to candidates with:
- Industrial experience in biotechnology
- Excellent oral and written communication skills
